150th anniversary celebrations

The inaugural ceremony to kick start the celebrations were held on 19th March 2022 at the Padang Complex in grand scale. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest the Hon. Dr. Nalaka Godahewa MP, the State Minister of Urban Development, Waste Disposal and Community Cleanliness. The High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka His Excellency Tan Yang Thai and The Ambassador of Indonesia to Sri Lanka Her Excellency Dewi Gustina Tobing, were the other VIP’s that graced the historic occasion.The main feature of the momentous ceremony was the launch of the First Day Cover by the Postal Department / Philatelic Bureau, with the presence of the Deputy Post Master General (Development) Mr.Thusitha Hulangamuwa, Director of the Philatelic Bureau Mr. Kumara Meegama and other senior officials.
The first cover was presented to the Chief Guest the Hon Dr. Nalaka Godahewa MP, by the Deputy Post Master General. Covers were presented to all dignitaries that graced the occasion. The ceremony was a massive success and a proud moment for the Club.Mr. Ashley De Silva CEO Sri Lanka Cricket and Mr.Rizly Illyas President Sri Lanka Rugby were among the other dignitaries present at the occasion.
