Colombo Malay CC Enters Into The Rugby Arena

It is with great pride we announce that the Colombo Malay CC – Rugby Team would be participating at the “7 a side” Rugby Tournament organised by the Western Province Rugby Football Union this Sunday, 23rd September 2018 at the Police Park, Havelock Road, Colombo 5.  Matches commence by 08.30 am IA. 

Rugby is a Sport where many of our Malays have excelled in School, Clubs & even represented Sri Lanka. It was a dream of the Colombo Malay CC to field a Team with the brand name “Colombo Malay CC – Rugby” and after much effort taken by our President Mr Ibnusha Ally & Team, we were given the opportunity by the SLRFU to participate in this Tournament.

It should be mentioned that with the short notice given to us, the challenge was taken by our Rugby Committee and with the grace of Almighty Allah SWT an energetic pool of Malay Rugby players was formed. Our dynamic Coach Mr Amjad Buksh is aggressively in Training with our Team and confident of making an impression at this Tournament.

The support of Brig.T M Bohoran (Retd), Major General Roycelan Sallay (Retd), Irfan Allang, Rizwan Badoordeen, Rinza Borham, T J Packeerally, Rilwan Lantra, Uvaiz Samsudeen, Fazul Jayah and CLUB staff has to be appreciated too !

This is only the beginning of CMCC Rugby and we require the support, encouragement and motivation from each and everyone of the Padang Complex to make our Rugby Team achieve greater heights.
